SINING ZHU 

Still A Long Dream unfolds as an installation in perpetual transformation.
Drawing from the architectural maps of Dynasty Plaza in Los Angeles Chinatown—one of the last traditional Asian shopping centers now shadowed by gentrification—the work traces a landscape suspended between endurance and erasure.

Concrete slabs bear imprints of discarded merchandise, their blurred outlines preserving the afterimages of vanished lives. Built structures, wooden boards, lines, images, and debris converge into a fragile archaeology of the present—where foundations and ruins, memory and forgetting, become indistinguishable.

These impressions act as fossils of a living economy, resonating within the delicate balance between safety and danger, stasis and flux, permanence and ephemerality.

At The Reef, the work continues to evolve and transform within the site’s architecture, echoing cycles of redevelopment, survival, and change—hovering like a long, unending dream.

《Still A Long Dream》作为一个不断变化的装置作品展开。 作品取材于洛杉矶唐人街“王朝广场”的建筑地图——这是为数不多的传统亚洲商业中心之一，如今却被城市更新的阴影笼罩——作品描绘了一种悬浮于坚守与消逝之间的景观。

混凝土板上留下被遗弃商品的痕迹，那些模糊的轮廓保留了消逝生活的余像。建筑构件、木板、线条、影像与碎片汇聚成一种脆弱的“当下考古”——在这里，地基与废墟、记忆与遗忘，彼此交融、难以区分。

这些痕迹如同一个活体经济的化石，在安全与危险、静止与流动、永久与短暂之间的微妙平衡中产生回响。

在 The Reef 展出期间，作品继续在空间结构中演变与变形，回应城市重建、生存与变化的循环——宛如一场漫长而无尽的梦境。
